Harlan County

Nestled in the heart of Appalachia, Harlan County is a prime destination for filmmakers looking to shoot their next project in a unique and authenic setting. In 2016, Harlan County was the locaiton for Above Suspicion which was the largest film project to hit Kentucky since Seabiscuit. Harlan offers many types of locations suitable for documentaries, independent and feature films, and is filled with various types of topography, buildings, cities, outdoor scenes, mountains, et cetera for the many needs of film.

Approximately 300 rooms and various private rental homes, ranging from traditional hotels, bed & breakfasts, and rental homes which can accomodated your cast and crew whether you are budget-conscious or have an unlimited budget at your disposal.
