Cranks Creek Lake
Not only is this a great location for camping but there are also three launching areas and boat dock/storage available. Species present in the lake include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, bluegill, and channel catfish.
Cumberland Shadow Trail
Five-mile-long multi-purpose trail along the backside of Martins Fork Lake. The trail is available for use year-round and features excellent views of the lake. The trail winds its way along the ridges and through the valleys of Martins Fork. Two primitive campsites along the trail for backpackers.

Martins Fork Lake
Martins Fork Lake provides a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities for thousands of visitors each year. Because of the temperate climate and long recreation season, visitors have numerous activities from which to choose, including: fishing, hunting, picnicking, camping, sunbathing, hiking, boating and others.

Kingdom Come State Park
Resting near the Kentucky-Virginia border on the crest of Pine Mountain, the park is the highest state park in Kentucky and offers scenic vistas second to none. Extraordinary rock formations are featured at this park, including Log Rock, a natural sandstone bridge, and Raven Rock, a giant monolith that soars 290-feet into the air at a 45-degree angle.

Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area
Since opening in 2005, Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area has became a top off-road destination in the United States. Over 200 miles of trails on more than 7,000 acres accommodates ATV, 4×4 and dirt bike enthusiasts alike. Trails are rated by difficulty and signed for easy navigation. The off-road park has primitive camping available.

Overlooking the City of Evarts, Black Mountain Cabins offers comfortable and secluded getaways on Black Mountain, less than two miles from Evarts Trailhead of Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area.

North: We offer 30-50 amp electric, water, TV, Wi-Fi, dump station and new showers and restrooms. Less than two minutes to easy access to the trails. Gas, groceries, car wash, clinic, police and fire, food from burgers to homemade meals with five free park & unload lots with in-town security. Rates are $15.00 per slot, NO extra charge for extra people, limited tent camping at $10.00 per slot. Home of the Community Camp Fire each night no matter where you stay. We have it all at Evarts. Harlan County Campground & RV
Harlan County Campground & Cabin Rentals is family owned and operated by the Foster family. We’re conveniently located ten minutes from either Harlan or Cumberland and we are the Putney Trailhead for the Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area. We built our first cabin back in 2005 owning and maintaining all of our cabins.
